If you follow the Iranian regime’s bad behavior, which we know you do, you are well aware that it is very active in cyberspace. As we’ve discussed in the past this activity is usually focused on suppressing domestic dissent, censoring the domestic media, and denying Iranians access to the world wide web. What has been less well publicized is the manner in which the regime uses the web to advance its general radicalism outside of Iran. Over the past several months the regime been using cyber attacks against Saudi oil companies, US banks, and other American critical infrastructure. Last Friday Janet Napalitano spoke with PBS’s the Newshour about the threat posed to the United States by cyber attacks. It’s worth noting that the Iranian regime topped the list of offenders.
